Social and Emotional Wellbeing

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service Social Emotional Wellbeing Program (SEWB) provides confidential and culturally responsible service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who may be facing challenges impacting social and emotional wellbeing.

Covering the remote Jigalong, Parnngurr, Kunawarritji and Punmu communities, the program works to provide early intervention and mental health support through connection to country and culture.  The program focuses on prevention strategies working with other stakeholders like KJ, Women's Shelter, EPIS and Martumilli. 

SEWB support includes:

  • Goal-setting
  • Cultural activities
  • Advocacy
  • Transport and travel assistance
  • Referrals to specialist services
