NIAA – Beyond Mental Health
Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Services (PAMS) delivers the NIAA – Beyond Mental Health program to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) support for Martu and Nyiyaparli communities. The program is grounded in on‑Country healing and community connection, supporting individuals, families and communities to strengthen wellbeing and reduce the impacts of trauma.
The program offers a range of culturally informed healing and wellbeing activities, which may include men's and women's groups, yarning circles, on-country activities, cultural camps, community events, grief and loss support, social and emotional wellbeing education, wellbeing workshops, cultural mentoring, family support, and community engagement activities. These activities are designed to strengthen cultural identity, resilience, social connection, and overall wellbeing.
