PAMS Independent Director - Expressions of Interest

PAMS is seeking to appoint Two Independent Director who can contribute strategically to the
governance and ongoing success of the organisation.

PAMS invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified individuals for appointment of Two
Independent Directors’ with demonstrated expertise and experience health for Aboriginal and Torres
Strait peoples.

We are seeking applicants with strong strategic and governance capability and a clear commitment to
advancing health equity. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping Board direction, with a
focus on driving prevention, influencing systems reform, and strengthening community-led solutions,
while addressing the social, cultural, economic and environmental factors that determine health
outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Applicants should possess experience and/or expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait health and wellbeing
• Preventative health and health promotion
• Social determinants of health
• Community development and empowerment
• Public policy and systems reform
• Aboriginal community-controlled sectors
• Governance, strategy, and organisational leadership
• Cross-sector collaboration and partnership development

The Board values culturally informed leadership and recognises the importance of Aboriginal and Torres
Strait knowledge systems, self-determination, and community voice in shaping effective and
sustainable outcomes.

This appointment is intended to strengthen the Board’s capacity to influence and advocate for longterm structural change that supports healthier, more equitable futures for Aboriginal and Torres Strait
peoples.
