Keeping our community suicide safe

Last month, on the 20th and 21st of October Beck Johnson from PAMS’ Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team spent two days in Karratha delivering LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skill Training (ASIST) to community members and individuals from various organisations.

Beck delivered the training along with Lorna Hirsch from LivingWorks, Andrew Black from Outback Trauma Counselling and Recovery Services and Kesi-Maree Prior from WA Country Health Services.

In the two-day training session participants learnt how to safely intervene and keep people safe from suicide.

We are proud to work with community members and organisations in the region to provide this training to learn the skills to provide full suicide first-aid intervention.
