Community invited to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2021

Published on Tuesday, 29 June 2021 at 8:30:00 AM

NAIDOC week is an opportunity for everyone to recognise Australia’s First Nations’ cultural knowledge, rich heritage, histories, achievements and enduring contributions to our country.

The theme this year is ‘Heal Country!’

We are all called to continue seeking greater protections for our lands, waters, sacred sites and cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction.  Country unites us and this years’ theme reminds us to protect and maintain country.  Caring for Country by default strengthens our connections.

“We’re looking forward to engaging with the community and talk about our amazing services and programs, have some fun and reflect on what NAIDOC Week means.” - PAMS Community Health Programs Manager, Nicholas Haney

PAMS will be celebrating NAIDOC across a range of community events in Newman, Nullagine and Jigalong.

Join our NAIDOC Open Day celebration in Newman with activities including quizzes, face painting, a delicious lunch and more.

Please note that the Newman Clinic will be closed for NAIDOC Open Day on Tuesday 6 July 2021.
