Current Vacancy - Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance (PAHA) Coordinator

The Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance (PAHA) aims to be the representative body for Aboriginal Health Services in the Pilbara region.  The PAHA aims to build partnerships with key stakeholders in order to promote health outcomes for the Pilbara and provide advocacy for the Pilbara Aboriginal communities.

The PAHA Working Group seeks to employ a Regional PAHA Coordinator to assist with establishing the PAHA.  The PAHA Coordinator will work with the three working groups (Mawarnkarra Health Service, Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service and Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation) to ensure the PAHA is created and meets all legislative requirements.

The PAHA Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and coordination of regional activities, maintaining budgets and tracking expenditure as well as developing relationships with key stakeholders.  As travel will be required in this role, sound knowledge of maintaining a safe working environment and occupational health and safety legislation is essential.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License;
  • National Police Clearance (no more than 6 months);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Exception time management and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Strong administrative skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience;
  • Be willing to undertake a random drug and alcohol screening;
  • Ability to travel when required;
  • Western Australian Working with Children Check Card (or the ability to apply for one if required);

This role will be a fixed term part time position (0.5 FTE) for 12 months, with possibility of extension and travel will be required between South Hedland, Newman and Roebourne.
